Rumney - 2003 | ||||
|
Rumney is not a very aesthetic crag, and was hot, humid, and bug infested when we went. Nevertheless, it has a lot of bolts in it, and so has become a sport climbing "destination" for New England and even New York City climbers whose other alternative sport climbing venue is the New River Gorge (close to twice as far away). On our trip to New Hampshire, Ann and I were staying at a friends house in Laconia, which is 45 mins away, so we stole a couple of afternoons, and clipped a bunch of the said bolts. Ann even did her first lead, and declared she could see herself leading sport, but not trad ... "I don't want to deal with all those pieces !!!" |
